Rumor: HTC and Facebook to produce Facebook smartphone
Facebook lovers, rejoice! The gossips about a Facebook smartphone being unveiled at the upcoming event on April 4 are apparently not far from truth.
According to noted smartphone tipster @evleaks, HTC & Facebook will join hands to release the HTC First, an Android based phone that will fetch a fresh home screen experience. And with Facebook association, the fresh user interface will be similar to any usual Android launcher, that will arrive with deeper Facebook integration & more convenient sharing attributes. The entire user experience package will allegedly be known as Facebook Home.
Nifty Facebook related attributes, it will arrive with the usual core Android applications & will be accessible in 4 colours white, black, red & light blue. With Facebook present in the deal, the enhanced edition of Android operating system will focus heavily on social networks. Similar to other launchers like the ADW or Go Launcher, Facebook Home will not change the basics of Android operating system but will offer a fresh way of interacting with this operating system.
It could perhaps have swifter access to Facebook crucial functions like status updates, uploading photographs, the Messenger application & even Instagram, which was purchased by Facebook in 2012. It will be interesting to witness if HTC keeps the BlinkFeed home screen experience, which arrived with the HTC One too.
Earlier gossips about the HTC initially say it will flaunt a 4.3inches screen, along with a 5MP rear snapper & a 1.6MP front facing camera for video calls. Reportedly, HTC initially will arrive with 16 GB of internal memory space.
To promote their fresh smartphone, HTC & Facebook are allegedly working on a multi million dollar advertising campaign in Southern California. Sources closer to the development of the campaign stated that the companies involved will focus on the user experience & the manners we interact with social networking sites.
